What Makes LED, HMI And Tungsten Film Lights Different #Shorts

LEDs are made up of little diodes that can
be housed in different fixtures, can easily   be dimmed from high to low output and can produce
light at different colour temperatures, including   colourful RGB light. They require relatively low
amounts of power and run without excessive heat. HMIs send current through a metal halide gas to
create extremely powerful sources of light at a   fixed colour temperature of around 5,600K
that resembles strong sunlight. HMIs are   physically large, require big ballasts
to be able to run and cannot be dimmed. Tungsten lights are the oldest technology that
heats a wire filament to produce a glow. They   create a warm light around a 3,200K colour temp,
that gets even warmer when dimmed. They can be   manufactured in different sizes from tiny to
huge sources.

They require large amounts of   power and run very hot, but are valued by many
cinematographers as reading beautifully on skin..
