Jump Starter – Starting A Vehicle Video – Advance Auto Parts

Well, when you have a dead battery, we have
very few options, don't we? We
could call a service and they could come out and start us. You know, it's
always been a good idea to have booster cables in the trunk, but then you
need someone to help you. Here's a good idea, too. A jump pack. It's a battery in a box, and we can
actually use this to get the vehicle going all by ourselves. Let's see how
it works. This particular jump pack model has a little
button right here that you can push to make sure that it's fully
charged. When the green
light comes on, it's fully charged and ready to go. And if it's really dark under the hood, I
like this feature. Here's a nice
little light that you can plug in, and it lights up the area that you want
to work in.

And here we'll expose the positive battery
terminal and connect the red lead there, and the black lead goes
to a good engine ground or good chassis ground someplace. And now, we're ready to start this vehicle. Once the vehicle is running,
disconnect the negative, the black lead first, then the positive last, and
put this back in the trunk..
