(music) Well I gotta figure out a better power
system. I don't use that battery charger because it's one of the smart ones and
everything. To power… power the unit So I was just hooking it up to the battery hoping that the combination of the two would work cause my other one it wasn't the fuses. There were two fuses burnt out in this so I replaced the two fuses right there and that still didn't work. So I'm gonna have to… I'm gonna buy a bridge rectifier and just bypass all that circuit board and everything and just make it a power unit for things like this. You know… I don't really care for the smart charger or not I just want the 12 volts coming off of it so… Here's what I'm going to do for three bucks. It was $3.24 with with tax and everything. I went and got me a rectifier here.
I don't really care if this thing's regulated or anything anymore really I
just want 12 volts… here. That's all I need. 12 volts to hook up to my electrolysis. Or power other things. This one that comes into this side here. I get 14 volts AC So I went and bought one of these.
It's a 8 amp 400 volt rectifier. I'm gonna just snip this one off the board here and take the one off of the fuse side and just run it through here to my clips and then I should get you know roughly 13 volts. I don't remember what it said it was dropped. Yeah I don't know it don't say on here. Or I just don't know how to read it but anyway hopefully that will be… But even at fourteen volts I'm ok with that Just for the sake of testing and stuff I'm just gonna wire everything up with electrical tape right now I will come
back in and probably get some longer wires and mount this over here.
Just mount it right inside here and run some wires over to it. That way I can close the case and stuff back up but I just want to get the electrolysis going so for now use electrical tape and tape it. To get it going and running and then like I said I'll come back and pretty it up a little bit and fix it so that it will be more permanent mounted and working. Ok… let's see what we got now. All right… So now we have 13.08 DC volts So it seemed to have worked. And now I'm gonna hook it up to my electrolysis and hopefully get that running now. And now that I have some voltage to work with I can hook this up and we'll be good. Anyway that's a simple way to "fix" your battery charger or if you get a really old one and you just want one to power things.
You know… while your testing or run electrolysis or something like that this will do the trick Alrighty… we'll catch you in the next video!.
